    Ticket office: M-F 9AM-5PM. BYU is a member of the West Coast Conference (WCC) for most sports. A few of its teams have affiliations outside the WCC. Most notably, the football team is "independent" (i.e., not affiliated with any conference), and the men's soccer team is actually a semi-professional team competing in the USL Premier Development League. There's always a sports team playing. Check the website for scheduling and tickets. Home basketball games are played at the Marriott Center (1497 N 450 E); home football games are played at LaVell Edwards Stadium (1700 N Canyon Rd). The BYU Legacy Hall [14] (athletics museum and hall of fame) is housed in the Student Athlete Building (1060 N 150 E, M-Sa 7AM-9PM, 801 422-2118, free).

    Great Salt Lake

    The Great Salt Lake Marina, operated as a state park, Great Salt Lake State Park and Marina [26] is located on the south shore of the Great Salt Lake, 16 miles west of Salt Lake City along Interstate 80. The Great Salt Lake Marina has 300 slips and is available for year-round boating on the lake that never freezes. Few power boats frequent the lake which makes this large lake with beautiful vistas and expansive night skies an excellent sailing location. The Great Salt Lake Yacht Club [27] organizes sailboat races which occur all summer. The Great Salt Lake is also one of the largest bird refuges in the West, and is home to a large pelican colony on the cliffs of Antelope Island. Antelope Island is a state park and offers a herd of bison, hiking and bird watching.

The Museum Cafe offers lunch onsite (11:30AM-2PM). Next door is the Harris Fine Arts Center, which features galleries of student art. Close by is also the Harold B. Lee Library [8], which features art and historical exhibits on the 1st and 3rd floors.

Home to a number of restaurants, including Bajio, Happy Sumo, La Jolla Groves, Malawi's Pizza [22], Romano's Macaroni Grill [23], Tucano's Brazilian Grill, Shoots, and Subway. Other stores include 3B Yoga [24] (yoga studio with a cafe and boutique), Bath & Body Works, Called to Surf (a surfing store), Soel Boutique [25], and Blickenstaff's [26] (a toy store). Next door are the Carmike Wynnsong movie theater [27] and the Provo Beach Resort [28] (featuring bowling, simulated golf, a ropes course, and the Flowrider, a simulated wave for surfing and boogeyboarding).

    Small but well-kept museum featuring dinosaur fossils, including a top-rated Jurassic Period exhibit. The fossils in this museum were previously kept in storage beneath the football stadium.

    Ticket office: M-F: Sep-Apr 10AM-5PM, May-Aug 10AM-3PM; also open for one hour prior to performances. BYU hosts a ton of plays, concerts, and other performances each year. There's something going on most nights of the week. Performances are generally held at the Harris Fine Arts Center. Check the website for scheduling and tickets.

    Tu-F 2-7PM, Sa 10AM-6PM. Free. Small extension of the Museo de Historia del Mormonismo en Mexico [10]. Covers history of the Mormons in Mexico, mostly through replicas of period newspapers in Spanish and English, but a few relics are included. Worth it to se the old church relics and original copies of the Book of Mormon in Spanish, but otherwise probably only interesting for those particularly interested in Mormons and Mexico. Not recommended for children.

    M 10AM-6PM, Tu-Sa 10AM-9PM. The ultimate thrift store. You can buy anything here: clothes, kitchenware, books, knickknacks, electronics... The place is a ginormus gold mine. The store is also a vocational rehabilitation facility and donates some items to humanitarian causes around the world.
