  • The Brooklyn Brewery

    The Brooklyn Brewery

    79 N 11th St
11th Street (between Berry and Wythe). The award-winning brewery has grown to buildings on both sides of 11th, and they offer tours on both weekends and weekdays. The tour is a lot of fun and educational, and you get tokens to sample some of the delicious brew. They don't have a kitchen, but some great local pizza places deliver to the brewery -- it may seem odd but it's encouraged. There are some no reservation tours on Saturday and Sunday, with reservations required for smaller, more private tours Monday through Thursday. On Friday there are no tours, but it's a popular hangout. More information on tours can be found at their website.

    386 Flatbush Ave Ext
Su-Th 6:30AM-Midnight, F-Sa 6:30AM-2AM. Sure, you can eat their famous cheesecake in Grand Central, but why not try the original? With an ad announcing loud and clear that this is it, it's one of the first places you'll see coming off the Manhattan bridge. Home to what is known as "the most fabulous cheesecake," and also featuring New York deli items like tongue sandwiches, this restaurant has been a Brooklyn favorite for decades. The gracious waiters, dressed immaculately in suits and ties, are part of the atmosphere.

Although probably not terribly authentic, as the food here is rather haute, it is still delicious and worth the price. As is usual in Korean restaurants, the bulgogi is a good bet, but the grilled squid and the vegetable noodles are excellent as well.

  • Folukie

    1168 Bedford Ave
Great Trinidadian food in a small but stylish Bed-Stuy restaurant. The bigger draw, though, may be the music—jazz and R&B—which sees some really talented local musicians. Be sure to check the website to see who's playing when.
